Between two stamp clubs this weekend and my homework for calligraphy class I havent had time to stamp for myself. Oh, and also some weird bug I had that had me sick for a few days.
Don't you just love it when you know you are sick and you hurt like crazy and you go to the doctor and they say there is nothing wrong with you. You just want to say then give me my money back!!!
Anyway, I love my calligraphy class. This week we actually practised letters all thru the full 4 hours. I did 3 times the amount of homework I needed to today to practise and still got to make cards for myself. I made twelve of these cards to have to send out when I need to.
I used the new clear mounted Vintage Vogue set from stampin up. I love this set. It is in the new mini catalogue. I also used my sincere salutation set. Remember way back when, it first came out and you could pay it on special for $9.95 or something like that. They should do that more often. All my supplies were stampin up except the brads and white cardstock. The other supplies I used were pink piroutte and old olive cardstock and ink. Also the houndstooth background stamp. Oh, I used my swiss dots embossing folder and some pink ribbon from cod wholesale which were not stampin up either.

Vintage Vogue
I cased this card from splitcoast. I dont remember who the person was tho to give credit to. I changed it up just a little. This is one of the new sets in the stampin up mini catalogue. Vintage Vogue. I really like this set. Even if I cant think of any original ideas. It is also using the new stampin up punches. The scalloped trim border and corner punches and I added the little butterfly in the corner with a martha stewart punch. I wanted to use designer paper for it and didnt have any that matched so I stamped it with the swirly leaf stamp from this set to give it a little extra something. The cardstock is all stampin up. Brocade Blue and Night of Navy and the ribbon is some Close to My Heart I have had for a long time. I also used my oval nestibilities.

2nd Week of Class and a Yummy Breakfast!
I am sure this picture doesnt do this dish justice but it was very pretty and delish. Kati made this for breakfast for us last Sunday. Banana waffles with homemade grape syrup and bananas and raspberries on top, plus whipcream. It was delish.
Today was my second week of Calligraphy class. It is hard so far. We had to make graph like things to actually practise on so our letters are the correct size. I made two and was still not allowed to do my final draft. I have never been good at drawing straight lines or even spaces and I even learned how to use a T-square and a protracter today. I made two graphs in about 1 1/2 hours. Even tho it wasnt good enough for the final one I was still ahead of some of the other people. I would say I am in the middle. We are using 11 x 17 pads and have to have 2 filled with letters and 4 graphs done by next week. Also with our 25 inch T-squares and 11 x 17 inch pads, we have 5' x 3" tables with 4 people per table so class is a little cramped and I know for me that doesnt help. So I am off to do some homework and see how I do with my own table. Plus my fine fine point pen I was supposed to draw the final line with broke right off the bat and that made me work look not as good.
Hopefully, I will catch on quickly. Even tho I am doing this all for my benefit I would still like to get a good grade. And did I mention we have to do a oral report with our finished book we have to make at the last class. Ick!!!! I hate oral reports. Oh, well. I am still excited and have high expectations for myself.
I also have to get 2 more projects ready for stamp club next week.
Happy stamping and have a good weekend!

Quilt Card!
I saw a tutorial on this quilt card on someones blog. Stamp, paper, scissors, Rock! Something like that and really liked it. I thought this papertrey ink sentiment went perfect with the quilt design. I was going to add another technigue I learned this weekend to it too but it took too much attention off the quilt look so I decided to leave that for another card.
I used the stampin up top note sizzix die and the floral fantasy cuttlebug embossing folder. The ds papers I used are chatterbox and stampin ups cardstock almost amethyst. I stamped the sentiment with elegant eggplant.

Happy Hellos!
Happy Sunday Morning! I have to clean my table off today. (Its a real mess!), and then I have to get my projects ready for stamp club in two weeks. I am not nearly ready.
My first calligraphy class was friday and it sounds like I will have lots!!!! of homework. So I have to get ready today.
I made this card last weekend. It is with stampin ups Lots of Thoughts and Merci set. I colored it with copic markers and stamped the sentiment in Rose Red ink. I used stampin up punches and some ribbon I got a long time ago at Paperzone. The little heart buttons at the top are stampin up also and I colored them with copic markers so they would stand out more. Not sure if I will do that next time or not. The papers is stampin up cardstock pretty in pink and rose red and also Bobunny paper I think its called A Gift of Love.
My calligraphy class was fun but we just went over what we will be doing in class and what will be expected of us. What supplies we will need and all that. I am not the oldest one in class like I thought I would be. There are at least three ladies older than I. But I think it will be fun. I needed lots of supplies tho. Who would have thought. I have been to three stores and am not done buying supplies but I saw at Michaels this morning that they have the strathmore pads I need on sale for 40% so thats good. Then I will be almost done. That was our first assignment to get all our supplies before next week.

Stitched With Love!
I wasnt sure about this card but I really like how it turned out. I used a Lockhart Stamp Co stamp my justrite stampers. The cardstock is bravo burgundy and very vanilla. The designer paper is from making memories lovestruck collection. My pink satin ribbon is new from stampin ups new mini catalogue.
I colored the image with copic markers and glittered it a little. I hand faux stitched around the outline. I know the words are a little close together but it was the best I could do with the space I had.
Tomorrow is the 1st day of my calligraphy class. I am excited and nervous both.

TESC96 Taylors Sketch Challenge
I made this card for TESC96 Taylors sketch challenge for this week. I just got this stamp this week using Ellen Hutsons 20% off coupon on the 28th. I ordered 4 valentine stamps from the Lockhart Stamp Co. Anyone who follows my blog would know that I love their stamps.
I used BoBunny Love Bandit Tweetheart paper front and back and su pretty in pink and melon mambo. I also used one of the brand new border punches from su also. It has tiny little hearts along the bottom and a ek success heart punch. I ran the white paper and the hearts thru my cuttlebug with the swiss dots embossing folder.
I colored my image with copic markers and stamped the little sentiment at the bottom with a stamp from su's sweet little sentiments set.
Here is the sketch from Taylor also. Visit her at http://www.tayloredexpressions.blogspot.com/.

1 YR Blogoversary!
Today is my one year anniversary for my blog. So what better card to have than a anniversary card.
I made this card with a Karen Lockhart stamp. I have had it for a long time and finally used it. Do you have any stamps like that? I have quite a few.
I colored it with copic markers and then put some flower soft on the flowers. I just loved this ds paper. It reminds me of old fashioned wallpaper. The cardstock is stampin up and almost amethyst. The ds paper is from scrapbook walls called Parlor Argyle. I got it on sale at a scrapbook store one day. It was like .25 per 12 x 12 sheet. Too bad that wasnt the regular price.
I used the modern label punch from stampin up for the sentiment. The sentiment is also su and is from the hugs and wishes set. I used my nesties and cuttlebug embossing folder also.
